- Christ the Redeemer is the largest art déco sculpture in the world inaugurated in 12 October, 1931 situated on the Corcovado mountain (also named as the mountain Pináculo da Tentação: The Pinnacle peak of Temptation, alluding to the Biblical Mountain.
- The Corcovado Mountain (Hunchback Mountain) is located in Tijuca National Park, a popular area for picnics and walking.
- The final design of the monument was authored by the fine artist Carlos Oswald
- The French Sculptor Paul Landowski was placed in charge of executing the sculpture.
- The construction of the religious monument was first suggested in 1859 by the Vincentian father Pedro Maria Boss
- This largest art deco of the world was build in honor of Princess Isabel, which in 1921 gave way for the idea of a great statue of Christ viewable by all in the marvelous city of Rio.
- The project was brought to life and developed by the engineer Heitor da Silva Costa
